AIRCAT

Innovation Serving the Sea

OUR

HISTORY

It all began in 2015 with one ambition: to revolutionize maritime transport for offshore and industrial sectors. Our teams explored all available alternatives hydrofoils, wing in ground, hovercrafts, partial aerodynamic lift vessels, Small Waterplane Area Twin Hulls… But one technology stood out: Surface Effect Ships (SES), also known as air-cushioned catamarans.

Convinced by their potential, we partnered with ESNA, experts in SES design, to develop a vessel that could meet the demanding needs of the Oil & Gas sector.

In 2020, AIRCAT was officially founded. One year later, we broadened our horizons by addressing the needs of offshore wind farms, maintaining the same focus on performance and reliability.

By the end of 2022, we reached a major milestone by signing our first contract for three AIRCAT 35 Crewliners, built by Strategic Marine in Singapore and now operating in Angola. Their delivery in December 2024 marked a turning point in our development.

At the same time, 2024 opened a new chapter: the defence sector began showing interest in our vessels. Together with ESNA and military experts, we initiated a strategic effort to adapt SES technology to naval requirements, offering fast and agile solutions to face modern threats. This led to the creation of EUREKA, a U.S.-based company uniting defense and maritime experts.

That same year, we also founded a Singapore-based entity to establish a strong presence in the Asian market. This strategic setup allows us to better support regional clients and meet the growing demand for innovative, high-performance maritime transport solutions.

Today, our commitment to quality is recognized through ISO 9001:2015 certification awarded by Bureau Veritas.

WHY AIRCAT ?

Pushing the limits of offshore transport

Far from the coast, challenges intensify. Distances grow, sea conditions worsen, and crew safety becomes more critical than ever. Yet, offshore transport often still relies on slow, limited, and uncomfortable solutions.

At AIRCAT, we’ve chosen to change that. Thanks to Surface Effect Ship technology, we have developed a fleet capable of reaching unprecedented speeds, drastically reducing travel times.

Say goodbye to long and exhausting crossings

Our vessels offer exceptional stability even in rough seas, ensuring unmatched comfort for both passengers and crews.

But speed and comfort are not enough. Safety lies at the heart of our commitment. Our vessels are equipped with active heave compensation systems, ensuring smooth and safe transfers, no matter the conditions.

Further, Faster, Safer. AIRCAT vessels are not just an evolution of maritime transport. They are a revolution.

At AIRCAT, you are part of the journey!

For us, nothing matters more than the quality of our vessels. We are not trying to make the best boats. We are determined to keep them the best. Technology evolves. So does competition. That is why we question everything, constantly, through research, innovation, and rigorous field follow-up. Our job does not end at delivery. We stay involved during operations, listening to crews and passengers alike. Their feedback often reveals what we had not seen and what must be improved. There is always something to improve. Always.

That is why we have created a simple, open feedback tool for anyone to share comments and suggestions. It is not a customer satisfaction survey to tick corporate boxes. It is a core part of how we evolve. No shareholders to impress. No investors to reassure. Just a team of people who take immense pride in what we build.

Existing technologies, such as partial aerodynamic lift, Ekranoplan, and even hydrofoils (particularly popular in nautical competitions), offer undeniable and exceptional performance in speed and fuel economy, but also have many limitations that put them at a disadvantage when used in the energy industry. Factors such as reliability, robustness of propulsion, operating range, stability in rough seas, safety and comfort during both navigation and transfers of passengers, and the ability to carry urgent cargo, are all important criteria that must be met.

Air-cushioned catamarans are the answer. Other industries such as offshore wind turbine, passenger ferry, or even the Navy have already adopted this technology which was developed for the first time in the 60s. This is why adapting this technology to the Oil & Gas sector is more a revolution than an innovation.

Meanwhile, the novelty is the increased reliability of all of the parts, devices, and electronic components which now make these vessels far superior to those developed in years past.

AIRCAT VESSELS has partnered with ESNA to conceive our vessels. ESNA is operated by the most advanced naval architects who seek to utilize their vast SES experience to focus on continuous improvement and technology development of surface effect vessels. They have developed the simplest, most robust, and reliable air-cushion system in the market. The combination of ESNA’s unique SES expertise and AIRCAT VESSELS’ insight on operational needs for the Oil & Gas sector gave birth to the next generation of crew boats designed to serve the energy industry.

The AIRCAT® series of vessels are faster, safer, more comfortable and economical than any other passenger vessel.
